Philosophy Make-up at Big Lots

I was super excited to see a post on MUA that Big Lots had some Philosophy make-up! I have actually never used their make-up, just creams and scents but I like the brand so I figured I would give it a go. My local Big Lots had a good bit of each product in stock so you should still be able to get your hands on all of this if you hurry! The color selection was not wide, honestly one to two colors at most but I was ok with that. I picked up two products and I am quite pleased with them!

The first product I picked up was an eyeshadow palette in Plum Delicious. The colors are on the matte side and I really like that! Most of my shadow palettes are either kinda shimmery or super shimmery, so a few nice mattes is always great to have. I used my UD primer in Eden and these went on great and blended really well.

The next item I picked up was a cream blush in Bare Your Soul. This is my first cream blush!! Yes I am late to the game on cream blushes but I think I am going to be trying them more. This is a great shade for my pale princess skin and it blends out really well.

These are the only two items I got but I think I may go back tomorrow for a few more since my office is right across the street from Big Lots :) I did see that they had a few lip glosses, eyeshadow duo, face powder, highlighter, and blush. Happy Hunting!

got2b POWDER'ful

Ever since I started flat-ironing my hair I have noticed a lack of volume. I don't really have this problem when I wear my hair natural (curly) so I never really looked for a volumizing product until now. I really didn't want to spend a lot on my first product so I just popped into Wal-Mart to look around in the hair section. I noticed a few spray products but then I saw this little box...got2b volumizing powder?? I only saw one other product similar by "Not Your Mother's" brand so I am guessing this is a new thing/technology?? Who knows but it sounded weird and I was curious! So turns out this stuff actually works really well! Even the girls on MUA give it high marks. So the product is a powder until you rub/apply it to your roots...then you get this really weird/neat cooling sensation. The more you fluff/play with your hair the more volume it produces. You can't see the powder but you can feel it...I am sure that makes no sense whatsoever! I honestly can't describe the way it feels but it works! Neat stuff and at a little over $3 it does a great job at giving you volume.

Pssssst Dry Shampoo Review

In a previous post I advised I would give this stuff a try and let ya'll know how it goes and I kept my promise...

I had previously tried the Tresemme (Oh la la) Dry Shampoo and I was not impressed! The product didn't seem to dry very well and when it did it was almost like hairspray. I didn't have high hopes for this stuff and was a little worried I would have white powder all over my dark red hair :( but it surprised me! This stuff has a pleasant smell and drys fairly quickly. Once it does dry you brush your hair and go! I was able to go an extra day before washing my hair so I say that is a win! I also had my husband check for white powder and none was detected. So I give this product an A+

Mini Target Haul

Feeling a little bored tonight so we decided to roam around Target for a while. I found a couple of products I wanted to share with you...

First thing I spotted was the ELF Shimmering Facial Whip in Lilac Petal. I already own this product in Candlelight(I think that is the name) and I love it! I love the smell and it is just a great overall highlight for $1.

I also spotted a product I have heard about but never tried, ELF Makeup Mist & Set. I haven't tried this yet but I will review once I do. Maybe this is like MAC Fix+?

Align Center
The last product I picked up is my favorite moisturizer for my super sensitive skin, Boots Expert Sensitive Hydrating Moisturiser. I just adore this stuff! For around $5 it does the job well!

All products mentioned above were purchased with my own money and opinions are 100% my own :)

Ulta Haul (20% off coupon)

I just happened to notice the 20% off coupon that Ulta mailed out is expiring this coming Saturday, so I went ahead a headed over to buy a few things. I did go in with a few things in mind but nothing I felt I just had to have! I knew I wanted to check out some NYX blushes since I am a big fan of the few I have. I found the NYX display a little bare but managed to spot a super pretty blush in Summer Peach :)

This blush looks really pretty on my NC15 skin and would probably look stunning on skin with a little more color. The blush has a pretty peach shade with very fine golden shimmer.

I also knew I wanted another Mega Shine Lip Gloss and had heard lots of good reviews on the shade Beige, awful name for such a pretty pink gloss!

This gloss is just awesome! I adore the smell (sweet tarts?) and it isn't too sticky! The color is a pretty subtle pink that would probably work for any skin tone!

My last purchase was a dry shampoo. I have been flat ironing my hair a lot more lately and wanted to get a day more out of it! I had tried another brand and hated it (I believe it was Tresemme) but I have seen fairly good reviews of the Pssssst brand on MUA. I haven't yet given this a go but will post a review once I do :)

I purchased each product mentioned above and opinions are 100% my own

Palmolive Fresh Sponge

I hate how nasty sponges start to smell after a few uses so I was pretty excited to try out Palmolive's new Fresh Sponge Dish soap :) Being the main dishwasher in the house I have used a ton of different brands and I always come back to Palmolive, so I knew I would be happy with the cleaning power but I wasn't sold on the "fresh sponge" part. Once I received my kit from Influenster I switched over to this soap right away. Right off the bat I really liked the scent, very fresh! The cleaning power is right on par with other Palmolive soaps so no disappointment there! I really put my sponge and the soap to the test on the first few days I had it just to really test it out. The product claims to wash away odor causing residue from sponges, how this works I have no clue but it does and I truly enjoy this product! My sink smells fresh & clean and my dishes are de-greased super fast! Another key part is that it is easy on the hands! Palmolive has a great new product and I will be purchasing for sure!

I received this product complimentary for testing purposes from Colgate-Palmolive via Influenster. Opinions expressed are 100% my own as always!

MakeUpAlley

I am so shocked that there are still women out there that haven't heard of or joined Make Up Alley! The site is free to join and a great source for reviews & swapping. I joined in March 2004 and I visit almost everyday!

Opinions expressed are 100% my own, I am not sponsored by MakeUpAlley, just a fan!
